Event Logistics Lead & Driver — Rentals & Production

Centric Events | Phoenix, AZ (Near SR-51 & Greenway Rd)

Corporate Events • Conferences • Concerts • Live Production • Event Rentals

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities Available

Help lead the setup and execution of professional live events across Arizona.

About the Role

Centric Events is expanding, and we are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Event Logistics Lead & Driver to help execute both our live AV productions and our growing event rentals division.

This hands-on role serves as the critical bridge between our warehouse and our client venues across Arizona. You will be responsible for safely transporting gear and rental inventory, leading load-ins and load-outs on-site, and directing crew members to ensure builds are completed on time, safely, and to exact specifications.

Whether you gravitate more toward live event production (audio, video, lighting, staging) or event rental logistics (furniture, decor, staging, site design), this role offers room to specialize, take ownership, and step into long-term leadership as both divisions expand.

About Centric Events

Centric Events is Arizona’s highest-rated event production company, specializing in corporate events, conferences, and live productions where reliability, professionalism, and execution matter.

Our mission is to build and equip a team of next-level professionals who flawlessly plan, prep, and execute events that win a client’s business again and again.

We are a hands-on production company with high standards, clear expectations, and a long-term mindset.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Equipment Transport & Fleet Driving

  • Safely operating cargo vans and box trucks up to 26’ to and from venues across Arizona.
  • Ensuring all cargo—from sensitive AV road cases to stacked event rentals—is loaded, weight-balanced, and securely strapped using e-track/tie-downs.
  • Managing load-ins and load-outs efficiently while maintaining a clean driving record and representing Centric professionally on the road.

On-Site Setup & Field Execution

  • Leading the setup and strike of staging, lighting, basic audio/video, turf, furniture, and event rental packages.
  • Reviewing project plans and pull sheets to ensure event setups match client design specs.
  • Assisting with daytime warehouse prep, pull sheets, and equipment maintenance between event days.

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Directing setup crew and local labor during load-ins, site builds, and late-night strikes.
  • Maintaining proactive communication with Event Leads, Project Managers, and venue point-of-contacts.
  • Representing Centric Events with high standards of professionalism and customer service in public and venue environments.

This is a hands-on role. Everyone at Centric contributes to physical setup and teardown regardless of experience level.

What Success Looks Like

  • Zero Damage: Vehicles are driven safely and cargo is packed/secured properly without damage to inventory or trucks.
  • On-Time Execution: Load-ins, builds, and strikes run smoothly according to project timelines.
  • Crew Direction: Crew members are well-organized, supported, and clearly briefed on tasks.
  • Client Trust: Venues and clients experience a seamless, professional, and stress-free event build.

Schedule Expectations

This role supports both warehouse operations and field execution, including:

  • Daytime warehouse prep and loading shifts
  • Weekday event deliveries and setups
  • Evening and weekend event executions when scheduled
  • Occasional late-night strikes / returns

Schedules vary depending on event calendar intensity. Because live events depend on teamwork, reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable.

Qualifications

Required

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must meet commercial auto insurance requirements).

  • Comfortable driving cargo vans and 16'–26' box trucks in urban, highway, and tight loading-dock environments.
  • Strong work ethic, physical stamina, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.
  • Strong team-building and communication skills under fast-paced event conditions.

Helpful Backgrounds (Preferred)

  • Experience with commercial box truck driving, freight loading, or load-securing techniques.
  • Experience in live event production, AV, staging, or commercial event rental operations.
  • Background in crew management, warehouse inventory operations, or event hospitality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic site issues or technical challenges on the fly.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 / hour (Starting rate based on box truck driving experience, fleet safety, and event lead background)
  • Pay Schedule: Paid biweekly via direct deposit
  • Growth Path: Clear advancement opportunities into Senior Production Leads, Technical Roles (A1/V1/LD), or Rental Operations Management
  • Full-Time Benefits (Eligible Positions):
    • Health & Wellness: Medical insurance contributions + 100% company-paid $30,000 life insurance policy
    • Retirement: 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
    • Time Off: Paid time off (PTO) and company-paid holidays
    • Perks: Equipment usage benefits for personal projects

Why Work at Centric

Live events demand a lot, but they shouldn’t cost you your health, family, or sanity.

At Centric, we plan ahead, communicate clearly, and build systems that allow our team to deliver excellent events without unnecessary chaos.

You’ll still work hard here — this is live production — but you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in doing things the right way.
