PURPOSE: 

Attend to all the paperwork and booking of trucks for Compact Ind. in the shipping and receiving departments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and deploy all LTL and trailer loads for outbound shipments.
  • Receive LTL and trailers for inbound shipments.
  • Prepare all documents associated with shipments.
  • Work with Customer Services on request/issues.
  • Work with Procurement on inbound shipment appointments.
  • Coordinate dock assignments for incoming/outgoing trucks.
  • Prepare daily tasks for forklift drivers.
  • Check all paperwork created for accuracy.
  • Maintain and follow GMP’s.
  • Assist Manager and backfill for other Logistic clerks when needed.
  • Review orders in Syspro.
  • Organize paperwork and confirm before turning over to accounting.
  • Review inventory movements for accuracy and first in first out (FIFO) control.
  • Operate a forklift when necessary.
  • Seal or cut seals for trailers during different weather conditions.
  • Assist in companywide and/or customer specific stock takes.
  • Assist in audit preparation of area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of pick and pack, shipping, receiving, warehouse.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Must be able to lift boxes for UPS shipments up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit at different frequencies during the shift.
  • Technology experience using Microsoft Office, MRP systems, copy machine, telephone, RF scanner, tablet, FedEx, and UPS computer system.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and detail oriented.
  • Attention to detail and must be very accurate with paperwork.
  • Ability to work overtime, either staying late in the day or Saturdays.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Food industry is a plus.
